Julie Simpson joined GoldSpring Consulting in July 2015 when Managed Travel Consulting, which she founded in 2011, merged with the company. Julie’s projects with GoldSpring focus on all aspects of managed travel programs, with particular emphasis on operational reviews, vendor selection, and technology solutions for global travel programs.
Julie’s introduction to the travel industry began at Walt Disney World, where she was a bilingual Tour Guide. She later moved on Ask Mr. Foster Travel, which later became Carlson Wagonlit Travel. There she established their first Emergency Travel Service Center in a hangar at Reagan Washington National Airport. She founded their Government Services Division, where she served as its Vice President. She was responsible for winning and implementing numerous military and civilian government travel accounts.
She began consulting when she joined Caldwell Associates, where she spent thirteen years. There she performed operational reviews, sourcing support, and benchmarking to a variety of Fortune 500 corporations and government entities.
Julie has been active in corporate travel management since its inception. Her experience has covered a broad spectrum of responsibilities, providing a solid background in trend analysis, benchmarking, and program optimization. Her approach to consulting is intuitive, quickly grasping client objectives and organizing effective solutions for their specific requirements. She is a graduate of Mary Washington College of the University of Virginia and resides in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
